A few nights ago, I dreamed that I was having a conversation with Jay-Z. We were in a club and a mutual friend introduced us to each other, and after all the niceities were out of the way. I handed Jay-Z my card and told him that I would like to plan his wedding. Jay-Z laughed at me and said: "You're small potatoes, what makes you think you could plan my wedding?" So I launched into my spiel about years of experience, abilities, skills. Jay-Z stopped me and said: "I'm sure you're a great and experienced planner, but I'm a big star planning a big Hollywood wedding. I need a planner who can come up with a big idea to put my wedding over the top and have it be the talk of the press forever." So I then launched into my other spiel about creativity and vision. Then Jay-Z said to me: "If you can give me one idea. One big idea, and I like it, then I'll let you plan my wedding." Then I woke up. But that didn't stop me from dreaming up big ideas for Jay-Z's wedding all day long. It was at the end of the day that I came to the sad realization that it's easy to dream up big ideas when you're working with seemingly endless sums of money. When you're working with a budget of say, $100, that big idea has got to also be big on creativity, and that's what's been on my mind for the past couple of weeks. I've been trying to come up with a big idea for a client that will wow jaded wedding guests, who are over escort cards suspended by ribbon and hanging from trees, signature drinks, Chiavari chairs and sweetheart tables. It was a long three weeks, but by golly I think I've got it. I only hope she likes it or I'll be back to dreaming up conversations with Jay-Z.

My favorite moment
Every wedding, there's a moment of all the moments that I consider my favorite. If I'm lucky I'm able to get a picture. This past Saturday that moment was when the groom brought his bride into the reception in his arms. Awww...I wish my fiance would do that on our wedding day. Of course, he'd throw his back out.
Congratulations Kelly and Joe!

Holga Weddings
Ever since I met photographer Erin Antognoli, I have been admiring her work with Holga. I was so inspired that I was thrilled when I saw Holga cameras for sale in Urban Outfitters and for a brief moment almost forgot my experience with the pinhole camera (apparently, photography takes a mix of natural talent and skill), so I put the $20. back into my wallet and have decided instead to leave the photography to the professionals. Check out Erin's work here: http://www.erinantognoli.com/

What I'm loving today
Big Bags of Bling!
Sure, they're across the pond, but Share The Feeling Productions may be worth the splurge. Of course, you'll now have to add words like Splodge and choccies to your vocabulary. Here's what they have to say about their Big Bags of Bling:
These gorgeous dupillon bags are sewn by London-based kaisilk Design and are filled with special ingredients which include (but are certainly not limited to...)a glitter ball – for disco divas… rich dark choccies – indulge yourself… a clarifying candle – to soothe you… Badger sleeping balm – to calm and relax… and many, many more!
